A Nightmare on Elm Street | FILM CALENDAR

FILM CALENDAR, that is, a cycle in accordance with the seasons of the year.

October has something worrying about it. The leaves from the trees are falling faster and faster, the mornings begin more and more often with fog creeping over the streets, and the evenings come far too early. It's a time when we're increasingly craving dark stories — ones that can make us shiver and make us double-check after a session to make sure we've closed the door.

Before the show, a lecture by Weronika Sławińska.

ABOUT THE MOVIE “A Nightmare on Elm Street” by Wes Craven is a 1984 cult horror film that forever changed the way we began to look at our own dreams. This is a film in which the line between wakefulness and nightmare is blurring more and more, and the usual falling asleep becomes the beginning of a real danger. In the main roles we will see Heather Langenkamp, Robert Englund, John Saxon and the young Johnny Depp, among others.

Nancy Thompson and her friends begin to experience the same terrifying dream. In each of them appears a mysterious man in a characteristic striped sweater, hat and glove with razor-sharp blades. This is Freddy Krueger — a character who can attack his victims when they are most vulnerable: when they are asleep.

ABOUT THE CYCLE

In October, we say goodbye to the golden autumn and we enter more and more clearly the darker side of it - a little hazy, a little mysterious, and at times really disturbing. After all, October has its little rituals: long evenings, rustling leaves under your feet, fog drifting in the morning, rain outside the window and an increasing desire for stories that can scare you.

Therefore, this time we invite you to Elm Street. Let's turn off the lights for a moment, put down our phones and let the line between sleep and wakefulness begin to blur. On October 28, let's meet at the cinema before Halloween warms up for good. Take with you the autumn mood, a little courage and... maybe a cup of coffee for later. Because after “The Nightmare from Elm Street” it may turn out that none of us will fall asleep quickly that night.
