Wolfgang Hofer, an Austrian social activist, regionalist and co-founder of the Earth Colour Association, has been associated with Małopolska for many years. Its activities show that dialogue between cultures can develop not only in large cities, but also through concern for local history, memory and heritage of the immediate environment.

About the event

Wolfgang Hofer, an Austrian social activist, regionalist and co-founder of the Earth Colour Association, has been associated with Małopolska for many years. Its activities show that dialogue between cultures can develop not only in large cities, but also through concern for local history, memory and heritage of the immediate environment.

During the meeting we will talk about the path that led him to settle in Poland, about the experience of living between different cultural traditions and how the visitor's gaze allows us to rediscover the history of the place. An important topic of discussion will also be the activities of the Hebel Museum in Przybysławice — an unusual initiative documenting the local heritage and everyday life of past generations.

The meeting will be an opportunity to reflect on the importance of small homelands, social commitment and building understanding beyond the borders of language, origin and experience. How do you find your place in a new country? What can you contribute to the local community while maintaining your own cultural identity? We will talk about these and many other issues with Wolfgang Hofer in the next event in the series “Krakowians between cultures”.

Teacher: Piotr Figiela
