Royal Ballet Classical “Sleeping Beauty”

The Royal Classical Ballet, conducted by Marcin Rolczyński, invites you to a unique meeting with one of the most beautiful works of the world ballet repertoire — “Sleeping Beauty” to the music of Piotr Czajkowski.

This is a story about Princess Aurora, on whom, during a celebration issued in her honor, the evil fairy Carabosse casts a curse. On her birthday, the queen cripples herself with a spindle and falls into a deep sleep. Together with her, the whole palace falls asleep, waiting for the moment when courage, good and true love break the action of an evil spell.

The show takes viewers to the fairytale world of royal manors, mysterious fairies and enchanted gardens. Classical choreography, beauty of ballet movement, spectacular costumes and extraordinary music by Tchaikovsky create a show full of elegance, emotion and theatrical magic. The performance does not lack both subtle lyrical scenes, as well as technically demanding solo parts and elaborate ensemble layouts. Each stage picture builds the atmosphere of a great fairy tale, in which good meets evil, and love turns out to be stronger than time and destiny.

The Royal Classical Ballet under the direction of Marcin Rolczyński nurtures the tradition of classical ballet, presenting it in an attractive and accessible form. “Sleeping Beauty” will delight both experienced lovers of dance art and those who will sit in the ballet audience for the first time. This is a unique proposal for whole families — a journey full of beauty, emotion and scenic momentum into a world where the impossible becomes possible, and every fairy tale can end happily.
