A high-profile picture from the catalog of horror film master Wes Craven, giving rise to one of the most popular series in the history of the genre. Before the realization of “Scream”, Craven already had titles such as: “The Last House on the Left”, “The Hills Have Eyes”, and above all he was behind the global success of “Nightmare from Elm Street”. The character he created — stalking his victims in Freddy Krueger's dreams — has become a pop culture phenomenon, and the series itself has seen a number of sequels and spin-offs.
After years of experience with horror as a genre, the director once again amazed the world by introducing a new format to cinemas. The brilliant combination of fear, humor, adrenaline, expressive characters, and above all a game with convention and a metacommentar to the film art itself made “The Scream” of the march a cult film for an entire generation. The franchise with successes continues to this day (at the moment we have 7 films, and more in the plans).
In his work, Craven also brought to life another iconic villain, Ghostface, and the famous mask from the series is today one of the most recognizable film attributes in the world.
