Krzysztof Herdzin. 35 years of artistic work

Three decades on stage, hundreds of compositions and arrangements, countless meetings with outstanding artists and music that freely crosses the boundaries of genres. The 35th anniversary of Krzysztof Herdzin's artistic work will be an opportunity to meet an extremely versatile artist — composer, conductor, pianist, arranger and music producer.

The program of the evening will show different faces of symphonic music and at the same time allow to hear Krzysztof Herdzin as a composer in a lively dialogue with both classical tradition and jazz.

The concert will be opened by the famous “Blue Rhapsody” by George Gershwin, a work that has been delighting for more than a hundred years with an unusual combination of the momentum of symphonic music with the energy and freedom of jazz. From its distinctive beginning to its spectacular climaxes, the piece is invariably among the most recognizable compositions of American music of the 20th century.

The jubilee program will also include two concerts by Krzysztof Herdzin. “Narracje” — a concert for saxophone and orchestra — puts at the center an instrument associated primarily with jazz, showing its possibilities in a rich, symphonic sound space. It is a musical story full of colors, contrasts and emotions.

The program will be rounded off by Krzysztof Herdzin's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra. The violin — an instrument with a centuries-old tradition — meets the composer's contemporary language, his sense of melody, rhythm and orchestral colour.

Gershwin and Herdzin. Jazz and Classical. Saxophone, violin and full symphony orchestra sound. The jubilee evening will not only be a summary of 35 years of Krzysztof Herdzin's artistic work, but above all a celebration of music that does not recognize stylistic boundaries.
