THE BOOK OF THE DESERT

The main character is 14-year-old Sun, a young author who has published a book based on an unusual story told to her by her late grandfather. When she is invited to visit the Sahara, she begins to discover that the story she considered a legend may have its roots in reality. Sun is curious about the world, brave and determined to learn the truth about the mysterious desert boy.

While traveling through the Sahara, Sun meets Kharouba, a nomadic girl of a similar age. It is thanks to her that the heroine begins to look at the story of Hadar from a completely new perspective. Kharouba becomes Sun's guide to the desert world and helps her discover the secrets associated with the legendary “child of the desert”.

As a two-year-old child, Hadara was to be separated from his family during a sandstorm in the Sahara. According to the story, he was rescued by a herd of ostriches and raised among the wild animals of the desert. His closest companion was the fenek, who accompanied him while growing up in the desert and symbolizes his special bond with wildlife.
