Moon Tales of the MałEMI Theater

Each of us is a Space Traveler. From an early age, we are surrounded by the Cosmos of our home, yard, kindergarten, school and even the one high above our heads — the Monster Universe — that emerges in a starry night. In our daily Space Travel, we keep asking ourselves questions: why, why, how, from where? What is wisdom, love, freedom, is it worth to be good, how to be happy?

In the play “Moon Stories” we present five beautiful philosophical stories drawn from different cultures. There is an African fairy tale, a Jewish tale, two tales taken from Indian mythology and a story from distant Nepal. Each illustrated with beautiful scenography and dolls by Katarzyna Samosiej, asks universal questions and at the same time in a smart, funny, warm, accessible way for the youngest viewers — answers them. The character connecting all the stories is Luna, Selene, Sahar, Moon, Chandryma, Month... yes, yes — our Moon, who:

Since the Dawn of the World, he circles the Earth, looks at us from above, hides in a well at the very bottom, sits on a branch, on a windowsill, on the top of a palm tree and on a Mosque. He sets his ears, his eyes look out, he packs interesting stories in his pocket. And when he returns home from the world, he sits on his Moon Thron. All the stars fly up, on They sit on the velvet of the sky, listen to the lunar tales.
