MEETING ON GRIEF AND TRANSFORMATION
conducted by: Kuba Malenta, Filip Tarachowicz
Grief has no one shape, no time, no right way to experience it. It can appear after the death of a loved one, but it can also accompany the loss of health, relationships, home, sense of security, an important role, plans or an imagined future. It can be visible and surrounded by concern, but it can also go unnoticed or unrecognized by the environment.
We invite adults to participate in a series of workshops (16.10 and 6.11) dedicated to the multidimensional experience of grief. Entries are open.
The starting point will be the paintings and artifacts presented at the exhibition. The themes of growing, passing, frailty, dying, transforming and preserving traces will allow us to look at loss from different perspectives. The works will not be an illustration of ready-made answers, but an opening of conversation and an invitation to one's own associations. The meetings will combine moderated conversation, elements of psychoeducation, work with works of art and simple reflective activities. The workshops are both for people who want to better understand their own experience of bereavement and for those who want to accompany others more attentively or are interested in the social and cultural dimension of grief.

about the exhibition
Artwork promoting workshops as part of the exhibition “The world as a herbarium. Nature in Art from the 17th to the 21st Century”. On a dark brown background, there is a botanical illustration of yellow flowers, green leaves and the subsequent stages of development of a butterfly: a caterpillar, a pupa and two butterflies. In the upper left corner is the title of the exhibition, and in the lower left is the inscription “meeting on mourning and transformation”. The composition refers to ancient herbaria and natural illustrations.
