Who will comfort the unfortunate Rhino?

Unlucky Rhino... but is it really just a Rhino and is he really unlucky? We live in a time when such unfortunate rhinos can be found at every step and in almost every mirror: too small, too big, too thin, too fat, too nervous, phlegmatic; in a word — not without flaws. The world wants to value and evaluate us. Unfortunately, we succumb to this and instead of seeking perfection within ourselves, we seek it in others. We are trying hard to meet daunting challenges and — often uneasy — ambitions. More often than not, we forget the joy of life — both the joy we can enjoy and the joy we can give to others. Then who will comfort the Unlucky Rhino? We hope that after watching this fairy tale, everyone will be able to do it. Sometimes very little is enough. The show about discovering one's own identity is complemented by attractive art, the main element of which is the figure of a rhinoceros of real size. The imagination of viewers will also be stimulated by interesting visuals. It's part puppet show and part acting. Its great assets are its expressive form, wise message and dynamics of the story. Rhythmic songs and imaginative choreography add to the appeal of the show.

Fairy tale Who among you would like to cheer up an unlucky rhinoceros? he wrote in the 1960s for his several year old daughter Agnieszka. The censorship did not allow the text to be printed at the time; the story was in the drawer for 20 years, in 1986 it was published in a second circulation, and only in 2006 — exactly 50 years after writing — it was officially published.

Who will comfort the unlucky Rhino? is, however, a show full of simplicity and grace. The small space of the Dome Hall imposes discipline on the filmmakers, so the story is carried out unpretentiously, and the economical aesthetics of the show, determined by the “gray” surface of the title character, is broken by colorful projections and above all by the dynamics of movement. The actors of the Groteska Theater once again prove that they are great at establishing contact with even the youngest audience, sincerely touched by the fate of the unlucky one.

In addition to smart and timeless content, the show attracts young viewers with dynamic visuals, interesting characters, and the main character - a giant rhinoceros delights until the very end of the performance. I think it was thanks to this dynamism and rich musical setting that the children liked the show so much that even our baby sat like enchanted.
