It is difficult for sensitive souls in a world where brutality is more than compassion, tenderness weighs less than comfort and appreciation, and selfishness can turn kindness into dust. The heroes of Who in the Flames feel it acutely. There is a hunger for closeness and a desire for agreement, which, unsatisfied, burn them from the inside.

Initially, this is a model family. A professionally fulfilled father, a classy mother, a growing daughter, a seeking son. Somewhere in everyday life, their happiness fades. Each pulls in their direction, and the shared portrait is torn into four jagged scraps.

It seems that such a state is inevitable in the family: after all, each son will eventually rebel against his father, each daughter will close the door to her room, the wife will feel lonely, the husband - unfulfilled. So perhaps we should not ask how not to move away from each other, but how to return to each other?

The directors of Who in Flames do not want to follow only the family story here, but also to blend into the world of the heroes, breathe the same dense air, absorb the music played live. They suspend the narrative in the space between the real and the dreamed, the lived and the imagined.

Who in Flames is a poetic musical tale of how love turns to hate and — horrified by its own reflection — desperately seeks a way to return. Some part of themselves the heroes will have to say goodbye along the way. What will they gain in return?
