Until recently, we started designing with a blank sheet. Today, more and more often we start with a prompt, and the first version of a project can be generated in a few seconds. During the meeting-debate, we will consider together when AI tools actually speed up work or improve the quality of the final product, and when they interfere by throwing slop grenades under our feet.
During the debate you will find out:
Do proven methodologies — design thinking, human-centered design — still work in a world where generating twenty project variants “costs nothing”?
Who does the designer become today: a facilitator, a craftsman, a curator — or maybe a prompt engineer?
What happens to a sense of authorship and agency when part of the work is done by a tool? And how do you define your own professional value in this context?
... does the Working Group grow basil in the basement?
We will also talk about which of our competences are losing or gaining importance, as well as the homogenization of aesthetics at a time when everyone is reaching for the same tools.
This is a conversation for all those who design, but also for those who are wondering if and how to start. We are no longer asking “will AI change design”, but who and with what will design the future?
