Eccentric millionaire Frederick Loren rents a gloomy mansion for one night and invites five strangers to it for a party organized for his wife. He promises each of the guests ten thousand dollars - provided that he stays at home until the morning. When the door is closed, the participants of the fun quickly become convinced that the prize may not be worth the money.
“House on the Cursed Hill” is one of the most recognizable horror films by William Castle, a director and showman who treated the film screening as a spectacle full of surprises. Haunted corridors, inexplicable events, skeletons, traps and heroes, each of whom can hide something, create a mixture of gothic horror, crime story and macabre humor.
At the center of the film is the incomparable Vincent Price as an elegant, cynical host who is hard to stop suspecting, but even harder to stop listening to. It's a 1959 horror movie classic that invites viewers into a house full of secrets and lets them guess whether ghosts or people locked in it pose a greater threat.
