Whose heritage and whose property do we actually mean when we talk about cultural heritage? Mirrianne Mahn poses this question as a black woman in a house in which her body was not initially intended as a person with dignity, but at most as an object of an ethnological perspective. From there, she asks what it means to preserve a cultural heritage that is not your own. How do we deal with this inheritance? And can it even be transformed? Her keynote asks who is telling whose stories, who is missing from them and who actually owns the Humboldt Forum.
