About the event

Art on maternity

Live music for parents on maternity leave in a setting that accommodates the little ones On the last Friday of each month, Kunst på Matsel invites you to morning concerts in the city's venues — tailored for parents with a baby on their arm. Sound level, time and frames that accommodate the little ones. Look forward to an intimate, present music experience — in the middle of the maternity bubble.

Lowly
Lowly released the single “Liminal Space” on May 19, which is the first single from their upcoming album Softy, which will be released on October 30. “Liminal Space” revolves around being a parent in a troubled world and trying to create a safe space for one's children without letting what one wears be inherited. With the single, they delve into what we pass on from generation to generation and ask the question of how what we carry ourselves does not become a weight on our children's shoulders.

Since all the band members have become parents, they now look at their children and are faced with explaining to them the dire state of the world, how we treat each other and nature at the moment, and with a feeling that the adults are not to be found. Lowly are as worried about the future as you are. But maybe listening to beautiful music can make you forget it. Just a moment.

In February Lowly plays at Store VEGA, but already on November 27 you can experience Soffie Viemose and Kasper Staub from the band for Kunst på Barsel if you are on maternity leave.

Art at Barsel bridges the gap between the art scene and parenthood. We actively work for equality, sustainability and inclusion in cultural life by giving space to artistic voices, who often fall silent in the transition to parenthood. The project shows that parenthood is not opposed to artistic practice, but can add new depth, value and perspective to art — both as a performer and as an audience.

All the concerts end with a conversation with the artist, where we focus on these issues and open up new perspectives in art and cultural life.

Attention: Admission only if you have a baby Location: VEGA, Friday, November 27
