The art of Ancient Egypt, developing over more than three millennia, is one of the most fascinating and recognizable cultural heritages of the world. The lecture will address both the problems of pyramid construction, as well as issues in the field of sculpture, relief and painting. There will also be threads related to the Egyptian art of mummification.

Paulina Komar, PhD — a graduate of archaeology, journalism and social communication at the University of Warsaw. She participated in excavations in Peru, Sudan, Montenegro, Georgia, Italy and Cyprus. Her research interests include trade, economics, and issues related to wine consumption in the ancient and Byzantine world. He currently works at the UW Center for Mediterranean Archaeology.
