Kyuhee brings excitement and beauty to every note he plays. Her extraordinary precision of play makes music shine, and she can share the joy of music with listeners. — David Russell
This is what the first part of the concert promises, during which one of the most outstanding classical guitarists of her generation, winner of the 1st prize of the 15th Jan Edmund Jurkowski International Guitar Competition in Tychy in 2014, will perform. Her interpretations are especially appreciated for their depth of expression and extremely subtle tremolo technique. The Kyuhee Park Recital will be a unique encounter with classical guitar in its most subtle, emotional and virtuosic dimension. Recognized as one of the most outstanding guitarists of her generation, the artist delights the audience with extraordinary musicality, perfect technique and unique sound culture.
The concert program will combine the elegance of classicism with the colorful world of Spanish music. In the interpretation of Kyuhee Park we will hear, among others, impressive Variations on the theme Deh! Mauro Giuliani's Calma oh Ciel is a virtuoso piece inspired by Gioachino Rossini's opera Otello, one of the most beautiful examples of classical guitar music.
The program will also include compositions by Isaac Albéniz — Capricho Catalán and the famous Cordoba — works full of southern color, melancholy and characteristic Spanish expressiveness. In the interpretation of the Korean artist, this music acquires a special subtlety and poetic expression, revealing the extraordinary richness of the sound of the classical guitar.
The Kyuhee Park concert is an evening full of musical elegance, emotion and masterful interpretation — a proposal for both lovers of classical guitar repertoire and listeners looking for unique artistic experiences.
In the second part of the concert we will hear the concert of Two Brothers duo Chica Pinheiro and Romero Lubambo. This is a unique meeting of two masters of the Brazilian guitar, who combine in their game the tradition of bossa nova, popular music of Brazil and the language of modern jazz. The artists, belonging to different generations, together create a musical story based on dialogue, improvisation and extraordinary sonic sensitivity.
The concert program includes works taken from the rich tradition of Brazilian music, as well as author's interpretations, in which the guitar becomes a full-fledged narrator of emotions and rhythm. The subtlety of the bossa nova, the harmonic finesse and the pulsating energy of samba meet here with the jazz freedom and masterful technique of both artists. Romero Lubambo, who has lived in the United States for years, has collaborated with a whole host of jazz, Brazilian and classical music stars such as Astrud Gilberto, Dianne Reeves, Billie Eilish, Michael Brecker, Yo-Yo Ma, Kathleen Battle, Diana Krall, Herbie Mann, Wynton Marsalis, Gal Costa, Luciana Souza, Sergio and Odair Assad, Flora Purim and Airto, Paquito D'Rivera, Harry Belafonte, Larry Coryell and many others, gaining the position of one of the most important Brazilian guitarists in the world. Chico Pinheiro, a representative of the younger generation, has performed with artists such as Placido Domingo, Kathleen Battle, Brad Mehldau, Dianne Reeves, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Chris Potter, John Patitucci, Herbie Hancock, Brad Mehldau and Ron Carter, cementing his position as one of the leading jazz guitarists of today.
