At Copenhagen Libraries, we experience an incredible passion for storytelling and writing among our users. We cultivate that with lots of writing workshops and writing clubs, and now we celebrate the joy of writing with a full day in the sign of books!
See today's programme below.
OBS. Each program point requires an independent ticket. So if you want to go along with it all, you need to pick up a total of three tickets.
Today's program 11:00-12:15: Conversation about AI in literature and human creator powerArtificial intelligence can already write poems, short stories and whole novels. But can it write literature?
Now Sanne Caft, head of Copenhagen's Central Library, and Jacob Søndergaard, head of publishing at Gutkind, meet for a conversation about artificial intelligence and the future of literature.
For what does it mean for us—for writers, readers, libraries and publishers—if literature no longer springs from human experience and imagination? One is what technology can do. Something else is what we want literature to be.
Contributors: Sanne Caft, Head of Copenhagen Central Library, and Jacob Søndergaard, Managing Director of the publishing house Gutkind. Moderator: Marie Høst
13:00-14:00: My writing workshop — with Stine PilgaardHow do some of the country's funniest and most popular books come into being? Where do the ideas come from? How do you find your voice and how do you know if a text works?
Stine Pilgaard is one of the country's most beloved authors. She excites readers across the country with her vivid dialogues, scathing portraits and wry looks at everyday events big and small.
Join the writing workshop when Stine Pilgaard gives a unique insight into his work and his books. In conversation with cultural journalist Jeppe Bangsgaard, she opens the door to the thoughts, doubts, habits and working methods that lie behind the books.

14:15-14:45: Mini writing workshopNow it's your turn. In this short and unpretentious writing workshop, Poul-Louis Bøving Larsen, the head library's literary editor, invites you to put words on paper and unleash your imagination.
You don't have to have a novel in the drawer, a finished idea, or know where the text should end. You just need to show up with the desire to try.
Maybe you go from there with the beginning of a story. Maybe with a phrase you didn't know you had in you. Or maybe just with even more desire to write.

14:50-15:45: Open MicThe city is full of stories. And now more of them are allowed to speak out.
We end the day with Open Mic, where you write yourself take the stage and read out their own lyrics. Here you can meet new voices, hear texts that may never have been read aloud before, and experience the diversity of narratives emerging in the city's writing clubs and writing communities.
