What if you could go back in time? Not to change your whole life, but to talk to someone again. Clarify something. Say goodbye. Seeing someone who is no longer there — or who you never really got to know.
During the finale of the festival Only RelaKacja, we invite you to meet Toshikazu Kawaguchi, author of the world bestseller “Before the coffee cools down”.
This is the story of a small cafe hidden in a side street in Tokyo where coffee has been brewed for more than a hundred years — and where, according to rumors, you can travel back in time. However, there are rules. One of them is the most important: you have to go back before the coffee cools down.
In the book, we meet four people who want to take advantage of this extraordinary opportunity. Each of them returns to the past with a different question, a different longing and a different hope.
Toshikazu Kawaguchi is a Japanese producer, director and playwright associated with the Sonic Snail theater group. The story “Before the coffee cools down” was first created as a theatrical play, awarded at the Suginami Drama Festival, and later became a novel that won readers around the world and received screenings.
The meeting will be hosted by Przemek Staroń. The conversation will be translated live from Japanese to Polish.
The co-organizer of the event is Relacja Publishing House.
We invite you to talk about memory, relationships, loss, second chances and what sometimes we don't have time to say before the coffee is cold.
