Spain, 1932. A young man seeks admission to the local casino. In 1937, a conscripted nationalist soldier stands guard over a Republican prisoner. In 2017, a former playwright inherits an unexpected document from his grandfather. Through a dazzlingly constructed and performed triptych, La Bola Negra traces the hidden connections between three men separated by time but bound by experience and the way in which queer lives, memories and histories endure across generations.
