BEST FILM on Tour: The Good Side of Film is the author's project of Best Film, which opens up space for exceptional cinema and exceptional viewers. Pre-release screenings of great films, meetings with inspiring guests, engaging conversations about the film and... gifts.

In October and November we invite you to the pre-premiere screenings of the film “La Perra”. The work of Chilean director Dominga Sotomayor impresses with its raw beauty, transforming an intimate story into a show of the forces of nature. “La Perra” was honored with the Palm Dog Award in Cannes for the unique creation of a canine heroine.On a remote, southerly windswept island off the coast of Chilean Patagonia, Silvia leads a quiet life alongside her partner, making a living from collecting algae. One day she finds an abandoned female and gives her the name Yuri — the one she would have chosen for her desired daughter. A deep bond with an unbridled animal fills the void left by an unfulfilled desire for motherhood. Their relationship becomes the beginning of an unexpected confrontation in which love and tenderness clash with anger and painful memories of the past, from which Silvia has tried to escape for years.

“La Perra” is a subtle, tense psychological drama about what we hide under the surface of everyday life. About love and rejection. About trying to tame the elusive. About the need to disappear and the courage to finally face the past. “La Perra” is also a film about the elements and beauty of raw nature. Therefore, the partner of this edition of the series was the AVA brand, which in the production of its full-fledged cosmetics focuses on ecological solutions and is guided by the slogan “In harmony with nature”.
