Since its release, “Labyrinth of the Fauna” has won 109 awards and received 115 nominations, bringing Guillermo del Toro international recognition and cementing his position as one of the most outstanding contemporary filmmakers. In Poland, the painting was honored with the Golden Frog for photographs by Guillermo Navarro during the International Festival of Cinematographers' Art CAMERIMAGE. For the role of Ofelia Ivana Baquero, the production turned out to be a breakthrough and opened the way for an international career. Winner of the Goya Award for her screen debut, she later appeared in “The New Daughter” alongside Kevin Costner, the fantasy series “The Shannara Chronicles” and numerous television productions, becoming one of the most recognizable Spanish actresses of her generation.

12-year-old Ophelia moves with her mother and stepfather to a country house. The estate is located near an old dilapidated labyrinth, which quickly becomes a favorite place for the girl to play. Unable to cope with the loneliness and brutality of the surrounding reality, Ophelia invents her own imaginary world. It is full of fantastic creatures and mysterious places to which he escapes at every possible opportunity. This land is ruled by the eponymous Faun...
