A moving co-production drama directed by Sebastian Chondrokostas, exploring the themes of identity, roots and the overwhelming desire to return home. The film follows the fate of characters suspended between two worlds, for whom the eponymous lachtara — the Greek word for deep, painful longing — becomes the driving force behind difficult personal choices and emotional reckoning with the past.
