When the Lambrini Girls came out with full force at the start of this decade, Phoebe Lunny and Selin Macieira-Boşgelmez had a very simple message in their luggage: anger. Justified anger, without diplomatic packaging and with the clear goal of mobilizing the left and upsetting the right. The Lambrini Girls were thus the band that some people — Internet trolls, trans enemies, the usual -ists — had probably not wanted.

About the event

When the Lambrini Girls came out with full force at the start of this decade, Phoebe Lunny and Selin Macieira-Boşgelmez had a very simple message in their luggage: anger. Justified anger, without diplomatic packaging and with the clear goal of mobilizing the left and upsetting the right. The Lambrini Girls were thus the band that some people — Internet trolls, trans enemies, the usual -ists — had probably not wanted.

With their debut album “Who Let The Dogs Out” released in 2025, the duo founded in Brighton grew faster and surpassed themselves than they had probably expected themselves. Top 20 in the UK album charts, cover by Kerrang! and NME and sold-out tours around the world. The Lambrini Girls fought their battle with attitude, humor and a live show that reliably ends in controlled chaos. It was the perfect constellation for a world that was increasingly losing its mind anyway: The band grew bigger, the halls were full and the wrong people were reliably angry.

And then the world got even worse.

The result of this is now “No Refunds”. A darker, more direct and more radical album for a historic moment in which much can hardly be endured but with gallows humor. Genocide, fascism, the rise of artificial intelligence and the sleazy descent into the shallows of the so-called “Manosphere”: The list of topics in “No Refunds” reads like a best-of modern catastrophes.

The fact that all these horrors don't take place neatly one after the other but at the same time — and that just barely two years after the Lambrini Girls' debut — says a lot about why this album had to be created in the first place. The present tense has finally given the duo enough reasons to open their mouths.

“No Refunds” is not just the sequel to “Who Let The Dogs Out”, but a significant step forward. Lunny and Macieira-Boşgelmez write more confidently and precisely without smoothing out their anger. At the same time, the music has become more diverse and consistent in its implementation. The Lambrini Girls have therefore not become quieter. Only now do they know more precisely where to put their finger in the wound.
