Since his role debut in Monteverdi's “L'Orfeo” ten years ago, Rolando Villazón has not let go of the Orpheus myth of the power of music. From Jacopo Peri's “Euridice”, which is considered the first confirmed opera performance in Florence in 1600, to Monteverdi (1607) to Luigi Rossi (1647), Antonio Sartorio (1673) and on, the tenor follows in the footsteps of the tragic hero with the lyre through time. He is supported by Christina Pluhar and her renowned ensemble L'Arpeggiata.
