Last performance of “Grande Donna Freiheit & Her Spiders From The Squat” in Poznań
SIKSA (Yiddish word, sweat. contempt. young girl perceived as vulgar, inexperienced and immature) is a feminist duo arranged for voice, bass, text and bodies. SIKSY concerts combine the energy of a punk concert, performative poetry or contemporary dance and in interaction with the audience they acquire unique dramatic qualities. In the constraints of instrumentation and stage presence, the duo finds the strength to create my own path. It is based sometimes on childhood memories, other times on fairy tales and legends, or reality processed by SIKSA's uninhibited and uninhibited gaze. In her work, the personal meets the political and the unspoken with the shouted.
SIKSA has played more than 400 concerts throughout Europe, Turkey and the Caucasus from small clubs and squats, through contemporary art galleries to major European festivals.
On the map of the world that we have not broken, there are fewer and fewer places where you can be inspired by each other's stupidity. Closures, terminated leases, raised rent, small clubs in trouble, and on top of that, a lack of insurance and money for therapy. In order to get rid of the rubbish that no one needs and cannot monetize, Grande Donna Freiheit is accused of manipulation and persuasion to do unnecessary, stupid, primitive and naive things. Her small but big band Grande Donna Freiheit & Her Spiders from the Squat is thrown a shadow of outlawing and remorse. What to do in this freaking situation? Can it just remind you that at heart we are all spiders and you just need to cackle the band anew? And, of course, to record again the tape on which he was the most cruelly stupid, and therefore the most rebellious & together? DO IT! After all, it's your team too!
Co-financed from the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund — a state special purpose fund, as part of the “Music” program, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance
