“Latino with Robert Lochanek” — dance energy in Światowida

On November 15, at the Centre for European Meetings “Światowid” in Elbląg, you will be able to dance latino under the supervision of the outstanding dancer Robert Kochanek, known among others from the program “Dancing with the Stars”. The workshops are part of the event “Woman is Me — Artistic Inspirations of Women”, organized at CSE “Światowid” on November 13—15, 2026.

The dance meeting has been divided into two groups, so that the program of classes will correspond to different levels of experience. The afternoon will be started by a beginner group, and in the evening intermediate and advanced people will enter the dance floor.

Latino — for people without experience and for those who already know these rhythms Beginner group will meet from 16:00 to 17:30. Classes will be devoted to the basics of Latino stylistics. Participants will reach for elements of cha-cha, salsa and samba, as well as get to know the more spectacular side of dance — with work and hand control.

The program will also include a short layout that you can dance in formation. Rhythm, dynamics and expression will be important, but also freedom of movement and the way you react to music.

At 18:00 the meeting for the intermediate and advanced groups will begin. Here more space will be devoted to conscious work on movement and choreography. Participants will prepare an extensive layout based on the dances of their choice.

During the classes they will work on technique, isolations, dynamics and rhythmics, paying attention to the quality, precision and way of interpreting the music. This is part of the workshop aimed at people who want to go beyond just taking steps and work on how movement looks and sounds in choreography.

Robert Kochanek began his adventure with dance in 1991. Initially, he learned about hip-hop and folk dance, but over time he became associated with ballroom dancing, especially Latin American dances.

Over the years of his career, he has performed at the most important tournaments in Poland and abroad, representing Poland at the Blackpool Dance Festival, Austrian Open Vienna, Bologna Open and Polish Open Championships, among others. He is a multiple finalist of the Polish Championship. He has also won prestigious international tournaments, such as the International Dance Sport Federation Lithuanian Open 2004 and The Black Sea Championship 2004. He also finished eighth at the Central European Championships. It represents the highest, international dance class “S” in Latin American dances.

Robert Kochanek made himself known to a wide audience as a dancer and coach of television programs. In the years 2005-2008 he performed in six editions of “Dance with the Stars”, where he created dance pairs with, among others, Anna Korcz, Joanna Koroniewska, Joanna Liszowska, Daria Widawska, Małgorzata Socha and Ilona Felicjańska. In 2015-2016, he again appeared on the show “Dancing with the Stars. Dancing with the Stars” as a coach.

He is also the founder of the Dance Studio Robert Kochanek. He shares his experience both with people who develop dance at a sports level, and with those for whom it is a way to be active, work with their own body and discover new possibilities of movement.

His experience spans the world of tournament dance, stage and television. In the classes he conducts, he pays attention to technique, rhythm, dynamics and expression, showing that dance is not only memorizing the next steps, but also a way of interpreting music and building his own movement.
