Jane Austen's most famous novel goes reality TV: A chamber play for two between dream beach, prejudices and turmoil of love.

Synopsis: “Married in Paradise” is the thirtieth reality TV format that Liz is taking part in — but the first in which she will get married. Because anyone who doesn't find a partner for life here in the paradisiacal villas on the beach in Thailand (and live on German television) is out. And Liz must win the show. She needs the prize money.

For Darcy, on the other hand, reality TV is a completely new world. He comes from an educated, cosmopolitan background and is only here because he has lost a bet. In theory, Darcy would be a candidate for Liz. But when she overhears how he grumbles about her “gutter frize” and “worker snout,” she decides to leave the show as a loser when in doubt. After all, you don't have to commit yourself at any price!

In this mood, she also rejects candidate Collin's marriage proposal, although saying I do would bring her victory. That really impresses Darcy. Yes, it really enchants him, he must admit to himself. Whether Liz isn't exactly the woman who is missing in his boring bourgeois life, it's just a shame that she now hates him from the bottom of her heart. Or can this course still be changed?

The author:Anna Basener writes audio plays, novels and screenplays. She worked freely for NEON, was a business punk columnist and sometimes vice author. When she's tired of literature in between, she writes western dime novels and does stand-up comedy.
