Lech Janerka announced the end of his stage career. After more than 40 years of presence on the Polish music scene, the artist embarks on a farewell tour. One of its stops will be Toruń and the stage of the Academic Centre of Culture and Art Od Nowa.
Lech Janerka is one of the most distinctive and independent figures of Polish rock music. The singer, bassist, composer and songwriter gained wide recognition as the leader of the band Klaus Mitffoch, and subsequently developed his own artistic activity consistently. From the beginning, he remained outside the mainstream, creating music that was separate, recognizable and resistant to changing fashions.
His work is distinguished by his inimitable voice, characteristic sound, linguistic precision and irony and sharp humor present in the texts. The artist's work includes albums that have been permanently inscribed in the history of Polish music, including “Historia podwodna”, “Ur”, “Bruhaha”, “Dobranoc”, “Fiu Fiu”, “Plagiaty” and “Gypsum casting of a falsificate”, released after a long break.
Songs such as “Constitutions”, “This fun is not for girls”, “Jesus, how I rejoice” or “Strzeż się” have become an important part of Polish musical culture and remain unique pieces for several generations of listeners.
During the farewell tour, Lech Janerka and his ensemble will present the most important compositions from his many years of artistic activity. The Toruń concert will be one of the last meetings with the artist in this format — an evening summarizing more than four decades of creativity, independence and music that has kept its own language for years.
This will be a unique, last such concert by Lech Janerka in Toruń.
The composition of the team:
