Simon Nielsen comes to Bremen Theatre and shares about his 5 years in the Foreign Legion

“In 2013, I made a decision that changed everything. I packed up everything I owned and travelled towards the unknown — towards a new beginning in the Légion étrangère. It was five years that shaped me more than anything.

From the first day, I learned that nothing comes easy. Discipline, language, culture and perseverance were squeezed into the body all at once.

My journey led me to the 2e Régiment Étranger de Parachutistes in Calvi, where training constantly pushed the limits. You get tested, broken down and built up stronger.

Missions, exercises, sleepless nights and endless days — but also brotherhood, loyalty and people you trust with your life. That's what stays with you forever.

In 2018, I closed the chapter. Not because it was easy, but because I'd got what I came for: strength, discipline, direction and a story no one can take away from me.
