Leif Elggren is one of Sweden's most distinctive artists — active for over 50 years and internationally recognized for his cross-border, socially critical and humorous artistic work. Moving between performance, dance, installations and sound works, Elggren's work often revolves around topics such as power, belonging and the decay of the body — always with sharp irony and profound seriousness. Together with Lauri Perälä and the poet Bruno K. Öijer, he ran a fanzine that aroused the interest of the Swedish security service Säpo. He formed the performance group Sons of God along with Kent Tankred. He is additionally the co-founder of Elgaland-Vargaland — a fictional kingdom that annexes the mental, geographical and digital space of the world. The screening is followed by a Q&A with Leif Elggren and Erik Pauser.
