Fear of heights

Festival of Polish Feature Films in Gdynia 2011: Award for directorial debut Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival 2011: Special Award for cinematographer Piotr Niemyjski

Feature debut of the Oscar-nominated director Bartosz Konopka, who was awarded at the Berlin Festival Królik in Berlin.

Fear of heights is the moving story of TV announcer Tomek (Marcin Dorociński), whose brilliant career and well-ordered family life are disrupted by the news of serious problems of his father (Krzysztof Stroiński). Will the journalist, so far focused on personal success, be able to understand and take responsibility for the man with whom a capricious fate has united him again?

The Fear of Height, which was warmly received by the audience and critics, impressed the audience not only with its excellent acting (Marcin Dorociński and Krzysztof Stroiński is supported by the winner of the Zbyszek Cybulski Award - Magdalena Popławska), but also the visual side refined to the smallest detail. The creators slowly reveal the secrets of the hero through the virtuoso editing of Jarosław Barzan (Body, Testosterone, Lejdis), the tasteful photographs of Piotr Niemyjski (Ode to Joy, Do not leave me) and the characterization of Janusz Kalea, awarded at the Gdynia Festival.
