A TENDER COMEDY...
“Dance Lessons” by Mark St. Germain is an art that combines warmth, humor and reflection on how difficult it is to overcome the limits of one's fears and differences.
Senga, a dancer after an accident, is forced to give up her career, and Ever, a professor on the autism spectrum, struggles with her own fear of touch and closeness. Although they share everything — from the past to their way of seeing the world — their meeting gives them a chance to understand each other and break down internal barriers.
The eponymous dance lessons, which are supposed to allow Ever to feel at ease during the banquet, become something much more important - a way to get to know the other person, to get closer to each other, to build a relationship that becomes the foundation of mutual understanding.
In this tender comedy we will trace the story of two lonely people who accidentally meet in the urban jungle of New York to learn not only dance, but also acceptance and closeness.
