We invite you to meet Teresa Smurzyńska, author of the book “Light as Belladonna” — a story about Slavic beliefs and the hidden force that changes the fate of the main characters.
Marzena, a girl with an unusual appearance, struggles with a lack of acceptance and an attempt to understand herself. The escape to the countryside to her grandmother becomes the beginning of a new stage for her - there she discovers family secrets and learns the fate of Victoria, her grandfather's first wife. Both women, although they live in different eras, share a sense of mismatch and rebellion against the world.
Will the Dream, whose fate is marked by difficult experiences, manage to find its own way? And will the ancient deities have a part to play in this? Enter into the world,
in which nothing is unambiguous, but only a thin line separates the fairy tale from the horror novel.
In the book, lightness meets the unobvious, and everyday life hides more than you might think. During the meeting we will talk about the backstage of the creation of the book, the inspirations of the author and about the heroes and stories that found their place in her pages. We will talk about literature, emotions, human relationships and what makes certain stories stay with us for a long time.
It will also be an opportunity to get to know Teresa Smurzyńska closer, ask her questions, talk about the book and get an autograph.
Conducting and setting: Jerzy Janik
After the author's meeting, we encourage you to take part in the herbal workshop “Różana Zielarnia”, during which participants will create their own bookmark for a book with dried flowers.
