Leon the Pro (director's version)

The film takes place in New York. Leon is a professional assassin leading an orderly, lonely life. Everything changes when he meets twelve-year-old Matilda, whose family is murdered by corrupt drug enforcement officers.

An ambiguous relationship is born between the characters, based on the mutual need for closeness, care and understanding. At the same time, the story of revenge becomes a story of loneliness, maturation and the search for one's place in the world.

The film is one of Besson's most famous works. The roles of Jean Reno, Gary Oldman and Natalie Portman, who debuted on the screen, were especially remembered by viewers. Leon the professional remains one of the most important thrillers of the 90s and one of the most recognizable titles in the work of the French director.
