Leopold

Musically painted, extremely colorful portrait of “the last klezmer of Galicia” — Leopold Kozłowski-Kleinman. The artist's biography, although stigmatized by the drama of the Holocaust, is a comforting example of escaping from the darkness of war into the lights of the stage. It was on it during the years of his career that Kozłowski wrote the history of Polish Jews into memorable scores and songs, having a great influence on the popularization of Jewish music in Poland and abroad. The performance is a kind of tribute to the artist who died in 2019 and the fruit of his more than 20 years of cooperation with Jacek Cygan and outstanding Cracow instrumentalists, who will take us on this musical journey performing live songs from the repertoire of the legendary klezmer.
