Lettice and Lovage

The action of lovage, especially in the form of a tincture prepared according to a special sixteenth-century recipe, can be truly surprising! The herb being an indispensable ingredient in love magic this time makes the action begin to get complicated and even go in a very dangerous direction.

The heroines of the play - Lettycja and Lotta are two eccentric friends who seem to share almost everything. However, there is something that makes them find a common thread — a shared passion carefully hidden from the world, allowing them both to make an exciting escape from the gray reality.

“Lettycja i lovczyk” is a delicious, slightly crazy comedy with a criminal plot and with a definitely dominant feminine element. Great acting creations are created here by Barbara Guzińska, Jadwiga Grygierczyk and Maria Suprun, although there is also an expressive male accent (Grzegorz Sikora).

Paweł Aigner (director), Piotr Klimek (author of music) Magdalena Gajewska (set designer) and Zofia de Ines and Iga Sylwestrzak (author of costumes) are a team of artists who have already made themselves known to the Biel public with the realization of the excellently received performance “Cyrano de Bergerac”.

“Lettycja i lubczyk” is the third play by Peter Shaffer on the stage of the Polish Theater after “Black Comedy” and “Amadeus”.

The license for the use of the work and the translation into Polish was granted by the Association of Authors ZAiKS.
