Stefan Jürgens can also be heard live with us this year! With his acclaimed program LOVE! (First yourself...) he finally returns to Renaissance theatre. And this time he's bringing surprise guests!
Look forward to a special, human evening. It'll be good for you. I promised.
LOVE! This is his antidote in an increasingly serious time. LOVE! And love yourself too! We all have to bear our package and want to find our inner peace. But the world outside is becoming increasingly opaque and ready to fight. Everything is changing, a lot is being thrown overboard that seemed self-evident yesterday. As a 63-year-old man with a penchant for comfort, Stefan Jürgens is familiar with the challenges of breaking away from old habits.
Here is a person on stage who is very familiar with the lowlands of daily existence and yet who still
Don't shy away from the really big feelings. His songs are hymns to life and touch and seduce his audience to confidence and zest for life.
Jürgens is accompanied on his piano by guitarist Matthias Kahra, who gives the pure arrangements a pulsating heartbeat.
“Not only was the high quality of his lyrics surprising, but also that of the piano playing. Jürgens sang and played over 20 works and prepared an incomparable lyric evening for the audience together with guitarist Matthias Kahra” (PZ)
“He's finally making live music again. And really good ones at that. Not with a band, but with streamlined and acoustic arrangements, his distinctive voice and piano playing are even more radiant. But also his clever lyrics. I don't want much from you,” for example. One of the most beautiful love songs in German.” (Berliner Morgenpost)
“With Stefan Jürgens, you have the feeling that there are two people on stage: on the one hand, the comedian who gives out fine tips and also occasionally a well-targeted verbal punch (...) on the other hand, there is this incredibly sensitive lyric poet who reveals a great deal of personal and private things in his songs. (...) Jürgens is both — and both are fully taken from him. It appears authentic through and through.” (BKZ — Kultur)
“The actor also has a strong stage presence as a singer; in his sensibility and the poetry of the lyrics, he was sometimes reminiscent of a young Konstantin Wecker.” (AZ)
“This is someone who loves the German language and who is inspired by great poets in his poetry. His songs also have this quality, which are consistently honest, authentic and enjoyable both linguistically and sonically.” (Bonner Generalanzeiger)
“A successful evening that impressed with depth, humor and musical class.” (Salzgitter Zeitung)
Jürgens' overall artistic package also includes his art on the piano. The way he accompanies his singing on the 88 keys puts him on a par with the great Konstantin Wecker.” (Siegener Rundschau)
“It is this restrained virtuosity that gives the songs the freedom to develop in their full depth at any time. You can feel that Jürgens' motto is not just an empty phrase, but the essence of an unforgettable evening: “Let's do what's good for us without pretending everything was good.” (HNA)
