“Piłsudski Line” — forgotten fortifications on the eastern border of the Second Polish Republic

A new book by the doctor of history Ihar Melnikau “The Piłsudski Line. Stop the Red Blitzkrieg” tells about one of the least known elements of the defense preparations of the Second Polish Republic — Polish permanent fortifications built in the 1930s on the border with the Soviet Union. This is a unique publication that is the result of many years of archival and field research by the author.

How did Poland intend to defend its eastern border against a possible strike by the Red Army? Where were the battle shelters built? What did the Polish fortification plans look like in Vilnius and Polesia? What role were the fortifications in the Baranowicz area supposed to play?
