Natalie comes to West Berlin from the countryside and lands six fourteen at Zoo Station. She is on her way to Johnny, a Berlin rock musician. When she doesn't find him at the train station, she sets off in search of him. Take subway line 1 towards Schlesisches Tor. There she falls into the maelstrom of the city and meets a panopticon of lost, searching, grumbling, but also warm-hearted people, as they romp around on the Isle of the Blessed in 1986.
A musical revue, a drama about living and surviving in the big city. A journey back in time when the Berlin Wall was full of hope, courage and self-deception. “Line 1” shows how people felt and thought back then. It invites you to laugh, cry and think about others, but above all about yourself. In doing so, you also discover the Berlin of today to a certain extent.

Matthias Witting sits at the piano. He keeps the beat. He pushes the songs forward. And he makes you sing. Legendary songs from “Line 1". To remember. To sing along. https://www.grips theater.de/de/pieces/voicegrips/141
