The Library of Knowledge invites you to a meeting dedicated to the unique places in the Czech Republic inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage.Prague is just the beginning of this remarkable journey. The trail leads further to Český Krumlov, picturesquely located in the bend of the Vltava, the Renaissance market in Telč, associated with the silver mining of Kutná Hora, and the modernist villa of the Tugendhat in Brno. Each of these places tells a different piece of Czech history — from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.
However, the Czech UNESCO heritage is not only about cities and architecture. It also includes the spa traditions of Karlovy Vary, Marianske Lazne and Franciszków Lázně, the Žatec hops landscape, horse breeding in Kladruby nad Labem, the former mining region of Rudaw and protected beech forests.
The meeting will be a story about places where history intersects with everyday life, culture with nature, and the past remains a living part of modern Bohemia.
The meeting will be hosted by Rafał Machowiak, a propagator of knowledge about the Czech Republic and Czech-Polish relations, and Krzysztof Chalimoniuk — an employee of the Library of Knowledge and host of the podcast “Sea Stories — Conversations about Gdynia “, realized by our Library.
Admission is free.
