Literackie Zaduchy: Meeting with Joanna Chachula

Joanna Chachuła — librarian, poet, laureate of many poetry competitions, juror, reviewer, cultural animator. She came to Sieradz from the beautiful and magical Suwalki region. She made her debut as a poet in 1985 during the Autumn Literary Meetings in Borki near Augustow.Her poems were distinguished among others in the National Competition “Autumn Chrysanthemum” in Płock in 1993, in 2014 in the National Competition “O Wawrzyn Sądecczyzny” and “O Laur Jabłoni” in Grójec, in 2015 in the Tournament One Poem during the 1st Meeting of Poets and Poetic Groups of the Łódź Voivodeship, in the National Poetry Competition named after the Wiłkomirski Family in Kalisz and in the One Poem Tournament “About the Silver Coin of K. I. Gałczyński” during the Festival” Write and sing poetry.” Her poems can be found in magazines and anthologies.

Co-creator of the Desant Poetry Group. For 10 years she organized the National Festival “Night of Poetry and Music” with the District Public Library in Sieradz. She has carried out many projects promoting contemporary Polish poetry, subsidized by the Sieradz City Office and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. He cooperates with the Maria Konopnicka Museum in Suwałki and the Sandomierz Scientific Society.

She published three poetry books: “Black Cat”, “Blood” and “Wrostki”. In 2021, she was awarded the “Meritorious for Polish Culture” badge by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
