Thanks to his classic “A Christmas Carol,” Charles Dickens is inseparably linked to Christmas like no other.
But it is not only grumpy Scrooge that populates the author's Christmas world: In his festive stories, he takes us to richly decorated tables, roaring festivals, wintry carriage rides and clever goblins. These stories are impetuous and atmospheric, melancholy and witty, which show time and again that the most important thing about Christmas is the people with whom we celebrate it.
**Charles Dickens** (1812 — 1870) is one of the most important English writers. In his novels, he criticized the social grievances of his time and created incomparable stories that are now classics of world literature.
**Iris Berben**, born 1950 in Detmold, is one of the most successful German actresses and audiobook narrators. She has already received the Bambi, the Golden Camera and the Grimme Prize for her acting achievements and was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit in 2003 for her commitment against anti-Semitism and racism.
