Live restoration at PETRI Berlin

Archaeological finds often come out of the soil severely damaged or are threatened with disintegration. It is the task of restorers to secure, repair and preserve them. It is part of everyday work at PETRI Berlin.

At the workshop table in the exhibition, a prospective expert from the Berlin University of Applied Sciences shows how restoration works. He shares his knowledge and answers questions. You can see up close how an original find is processed, which methods and tools are used and what the biggest challenges are.

The workshop table is located in front of the restoration workshop on the 2nd floor. Just drop by, without registration and at any time!
