Coffee is one of the world's most widely consumed beverages — but also a complex plant and a global value chain with great environmental and health prospects.
In this talk you will meet three scientists, each of whom will provide insight into different aspects of coffee: from the biology and cultivation of the coffee plant to the processing that brings the coffee to the cup we drink every day. The focus is also on sustainable coffee production and how climate change could affect the coffee of the future. Finally, the latest research findings on the importance of coffee for health and nutrition are highlighted.
The lecture will be held by Aske Skovmand Bosselmann, Associate Professor of Agricultural Value Chains at the University of Copenhagen, Anders Sanchez Barfod, Associate Professor Emeritus of Botany at Aarhus University, and Kjeld Hermansen, Doctor and Associate Professor Emeritus in Diabetes and Nutrition at Aarhus University.
The lecture is free but requires registration.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
