Los Pirañas

Psych-Cumbia Disruptors

Colombian trio Los Pirañas are a genre-bending delight, twisting traditional tropical styles into something raw, playful and wild.

Featuring Eblis Álvarez of Meridian Brothers, the group draw on cumbia, champeta, chicha and vallenato, reworking them through improvisation, a rock attitude and an offbeat sense of humour.

Their joyful live sets have taken them to festivals across Europe, and put them at the heart of the revival of the Colombian music scene.

High energy, rhythm-heavy and impossible to pin down, Los Pirañas turn cumbia inside out and have a lot of fun doing it.
