Soar on indie poptones from Lowly in VEGA
The Danish indie pop masters from Lowly are back with new music. And on that occasion they will lay the road past Store VEGA on February 13 next year.
With the new single “Liminal Space,” Lowly delves into what we pass on from generation to generation, asking the question of how what we ourselves carry doesn't become a weight on our children's shoulders. “Liminal Space” will be released on May 19, 2026 via Bella Union along with an experimental music video in which Lowly shows off the song together on a Zoom call.
The song unfolds as an intimate, intense and gentle pop ballad with many layers and details that open up upon repeated listening. Here, crisp drums, distorted guitars, synths and noisy outbursts meet with Soffie Viemose's warm vocals.
The drums don't calm down in a firm beat, and the guitars suddenly break in over the song's structure as Soffie Viemose asks, “could there be a safe spot right here?”
Since all the band members have become parents, they now look at their children and are faced with explaining to them the dire state of the world, how we treat each other and nature at the moment, and with a feeling that the adults are not to be found.
In 2023, Lowly played in Store VEGA. One concert, the music medium Undertones reviewed under the headline: “In a tour de force of a Vega concert, the indie quintet channeled their confident ability to command sound and energy in a spectacular way.”
The band started their musical journey back in 2014 and have since released a string of albums - most recently with Keep Up The Good Work (2023). And next spring you can experience them in Store VEGA to the sound of new music.
