People Without Tomorrow is one of the early Polish silent films and at the same time a sensational discovery in the German Bundesarchiv. The film, which was made in 1919, entered the screens of cinemas after many corrections only in 1921. Until recently, he was considered missing, found in the archives of Kamil Stepan and Jerzy Maśnicki. Józef Węrzyn, one of the most interesting Polish actors of the first half of the 20th century, played the role of the captain, while Lola Wirska was played by Halina Bruczówna, a star of theatre and film, for whom it was the last film creation in the domestic cinema before leaving for the United States. People without tomorrow is the only production with the participation of Halina Bruczówna, which has survived to our times.
