There is a moment when a person realizes that he no longer plays a role. Or on the contrary — that he plays them too much and has long forgotten who he really is. It is from this place that one of the most important contemporary arts begins. The art of escape.
The people, places and things of Duncan Macmillan, is a drama that since its premiere in London has been conquering more scenes of the world not because it talks about addiction. It describes something much more common—a man who will do anything to avoid meeting himself. Macmillan has been one of the most interesting British playwrights of his generation for years. Bagatela viewers got to know him, among other things, thanks to the monodrama All the Best. Macmillan does not moralize, he does not make easy diagnoses. He is interested in a man who is trying to find a way to stop hurting at least for a while.
The main character is Emma — an actress. After a spectacular breakdown, he ends up in an addiction treatment center. There it turns out that her biggest opponent is neither alcohol nor drugs, but herself.
ATTENTION!
A show for viewers from the age of 16!
In the performance, profanity is used and flickering lights, smokiness of the scene (smoke generator) and tobacco products are used.
