Lutz Krajenski Big Band feat. Atrin Madani - REMEMBERING ROGER

“Take off your shoes”, “Women rule the world”, “In this moment” — titles that made the exceptional artist Roger Cicero unforgettable. When his album “Männersachen” was released in 2006, no one could have guessed that the combination of big band sound and German-language lyrics would have such a lasting influence on the music scene. Swing in the pop charts had never happened before — the appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 was also unforgettable. A tragedy that this fantastic singer was only allowed to live to 46 years old. His death far too early was a huge shock for all fans, colleagues, family and friends back then.

2026 marks the tenth anniversary of Roger Cicero's death. Reason enough for the former members of his band to remember their times together musically and to take the audience on a journey back in time — even to the years before “men's stuff”; with swing, soul and groove and, of course, the powerful big band sound under the proven direction and with arrangements by keyboard magician Lutz Krajenski.

The singer was won over by the wonderful Atrin Madani, Berlin musicians from a young generation of fantastic jazz artists who are impressively reinventing this genre and yet also feel committed to tradition.

Madani, who, as he himself says, has musically shaped Cicero's music, interprets the songs in his very own way and, together with the former backing band, bows to a musician who made so many people happy on and in front of the stage in the short period of his life and continues to make them happy today.
