Macbeth

Presented by UCL Shakespeare Co.

As a battle ends, a young boy finds three girls upon a heath. He will never sleep again.

Amidst the rubble of a war-torn city, a rag-tag militia of young survivors navigate their former home. Immersed in horror, desperate to stay alive, they are led by their “king” Duncan. From their number emerge two soldiers - the Macbeths. In love, traumatised, unhinged by superstition, ambition and grief, they seek to seize power the only way they know how - with blood.

In this new and original adaptation, Shakespeare's eternal verse pulses with alarming urgency. Here is Macbeth at its most vulnerable.

The youth are now murderers, the innocent now witches.

“We are yet but young in deed.”
